Audi will build the Q4 e-tron electric car

Audi will build a compact electric crossover based on the Q4 e-tron concept presented in Geneva at a factory in China owned by the Volkswagen-SAIC Motor joint venture, local press reports.

The Audi Q4 e-tron will be assembled at the new SAIC-VW electric car factory near Shanghai. This model will be the first Audi built at this factory, which is due to start production in November. All elements based on the VW MEB platform for electric models will be used in production. The production capacity of the plant is 300,000 units of Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda.

Volkswagen Group has unveiled the Audi A4 e-tron at the international motor show in Geneva, 2019. The Audi Q4 e-tron concept was 4.59 meters long, 1.9 meters wide and 1.6 meters high. The wheelbase is 2770 mm. the Drive is provided by two electric motors that together produce 225 kW (300 HP).
An 82 kW / h battery provides 450 km of autonomy (WLTP), and a 0-100 km / h sprint is completed in 6.3 seconds. The model has four-wheel drive Quattro and a maximum speed of 180 km / h. In Europe, the Q4 e-tron will be built at the Volkswagen Group plant in Zwickau (Germany).

In 2018, Audi was the best-selling luxury model in China, but risks losing the top position in sales. In the first months of 2019, Audi fell 0.5% to 205,698 units, while BMW rose 13% to 218,330 units, and Mercedes-Benz rose 2.2% to 232,050 units.
